Phil Spencer is a businessman, journalist and media personality often found presenting alongside Kirstie Allsopp in such programmes as Location, Location, Location and Relocation, Relocation. A property expert, Phil is well known as a Channel 4 anchor having hosted numerous programmes for the channel. He also joined forces with Kirstie Allsopp, to launch a new production company called Raise The Roof, teamed with colleagues from IWC Media. In addition to book publications, Phil has written regular columns for leading newspapers and magazines and launched the website Move IQ proving top level property advice across the widest possible audience.

An expert on the property scene, Phil Spencer was born in Kent and spent his childhood on the family farm.
Following ‘A’ Levels, he harboured ambitions of joining the army or becoming a professional cricketer. In reality, he found himself teaching sport on Australia’s Gold Coast, a post he held for a year, joined the British Army on a 3-month potential Officer’s course and played junior county cricket for Kent!
A period of working for an estate agent in Canterbury sparked an interest in property and resulted in Phil sitting a four-year university degree course in General Practice Surveying at London’s Southbank University.
His degree to the good, Phil went on to Found Garrington Home Finders, a consultancy firm advising prospective buyers on property searches, price negotiation and any tactical issues potentially encountered while buying their intended home. At the time, something of a reversal of the role of conventional estate agents.
Phil’s expertise and natural ability to understand and interpret house hunters needs, led to him being approached by a Scottish production company. Initially the aim was to use Phil in an advisory capacity on their new property show but he was subsequently asked to take a screen test with a view to presenting. It was here that Phil and Kirstie Allsopp met developing an instant on screen chemistry and Location, Location, Location was born. Relocation, Relocation followed shortly afterwards with he and Kirstie teaming up to present a number of other TV series.
Today, Phil mainly divides his time between filming, working with Raise the Roof Productions, a company he set up along with Kirstie and long-term business partners, Sarah Walmsley and Jane Muirhead and Move IQ, his advisory property website.
Phil is also a regular property columnist for London Agents South Magazine, The Sunday Times and has appeared in Home Buyer Magazine and Night and Day in the Mail on Sunday.
Highly respected in his field, Phil’s experience and engaging manner make him a popular choice on the corporate circuit.
