Pen Hadow has without doubt pushed all the boundaries when it comes to exploration. He rose to international fame as the first explorer to trek solo from Canada to the North Pole without resupply from a third party, a feat that took him three attempts and which has never been repeated.

Having developed an infinity with the Arctic, it’s wildlife and ecosystem, Pen led the multi -award winning Catlin Arctic Survey research programme investigating the causes and impacts of the area’s rapidly diminishing sea ice. He is Founder of the 90 North Unit advocating conservation for the international waters of the Arctic Ocean and also launched the Arctic Mission programme to highlight the threat to wildlife by tourism, commercial shipping and fishing in the reduced sea ice cover habitat.

 

Aside from embarking on numerous and some of the most dangerous, life threatening explorations known to man, Pen’s achievements over the years have included becoming  the youngest ever executive at IMG sports organisation, setting up his pioneering travel business, The Polar Travel Company and organising the first all-female relay to the North Geographic Pole, thus enabling women with no previous exploration experience to enter into the Guinness Book of World Records, inspiring a whole new generation of female explorers.
