Al Murray is best known for his performances as his alter-ego persona The Pub Landlord. He has delighted his audiences and critics alike with his no nonsense approach to stand-up comedy making him one of the most popular cult stars in the UK. Appearances as the Pub Landlord include; Live at the Apollo, Live at The Palladium and a number of appearances on The Royal Variety Performance. While continuing to perform in sell-out stand-up tours, on a more serious note Al has also hosted a number of television documentaries including Al Murray’s German Adventure, Al Murray:Why Does Everyone Hate The English and Al Murray’s Great British War Movies.

While continuing to perform in sell-out stand-up tours, on a more serious note Al has also hosted a number of television documentaries including; Al Murray’s German Adventure, Al Murray’s Road to Berlin, Al Murray:Why Does Everyone Hate The English, Al Murray’s Great British Spy Movies, Al Murray’s Great British War Movies and a historical series on the art and culture of Germany to name but a few.

As a writer, Al has enjoyed success with a number of books including; Book of British Common Sense, Think Yourself British, the Great British Pub Quiz and Watching War films with my Dad – in which he was able to combine stories of his childhood with his passion for history.

Al also made a surprising entry into politics when he took on the leadership of the Free United Kingdom Party (FUKP), standing as a candidate at the 2015 General Election for the Kent constituency of South Thanet!
