Born in England, award-winning Rupert trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and first came to prominence for his role as Adam Carter in the TV series Spooks. Other leading television credits include the legal drama Silk, the murder mystery series Whitechapel, Black Sails, The Strain and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man. Rupert is also available for corporate events.

Born in London, Rupert Penry-Jones trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and very soon found himself acting alongside mother, Angela Thorne in the 1995 television adaptation of Cold Comfort Farm. Much of his early career saw him appear in popular television series such as French and Saunders and Absolutely Fabulous which led to series such as North Square and Cambridge Spies. 

He played the much-acclaimed Adam Carter in Spooks, DI Joseph Chandler in Whitechapel, Clive Reader in Silk starring opposite Maxine Peake, Thomas Hamilton in Black Sails, Mr Quinlan in The Strain and Blake in Stan Lee’s Lucky Man.

Rupert’s stage debut also came in London where he was cast with Ralph Fiennes in Hamlet and went on to make more notable appearances in such productions as The Play About Baby, Arnold Wesker’s Chips With Everything, Shakespeare’s Timon of Athens and the title role in Don Carlos for which he was awarded an Ian Charleston Award.

High profile film appearances include roles in; Charlotte Gray with Cate Blanchett and The Four Feathers with Heath Ledger, Wes Bentley and Kate Hudson. Other credits include; Match Point, Red Tails, Vita and Virginia, Getting to Know You, Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears and Love Sarah

Rupert is in much demand to appear at corporate events where he fulfils a variety of roles.
