Actor Richard E Grant was born in Swaziland and studied drama at Cape Town University. His ‘big break’ came in the film Withnail since when, he has appeared in over 60 films with some of Hollywood’s greatest directors and actors. He has presented a number of television documentaries such as Hotel Secrets for Sky Atlantic, Richard E. Grant on Ealing Comedies and Our friend Victoria, while his corporate credits include hosting the Empire Film Awards and Laurence Olivier Theatre Awards.

Actor Richard E. Grant was born in Swaziland and studied drama at Cape Town University. His ‘big break’ came with the film Withnail since when, he has appeared in over 60 movies with some of Hollywood’s greatest directors and actors. Among his big screen credits;   How To Get Ahead In Advertising, Age of Innocence, Dracula, Jack And Sara, Twelfth Night, Portrait of a Lady, The Player, L.A. Story, Bright Young Things, Gosford Park, The Corpse Bride, Colour Me Kubrick, Love Hurts, Dom Hemingway, The Iron Lady, Horrid Henry, Logan and Can You Ever Forgive Me for which he won the new York Critic’s Circle Award and Independent Spirit Award for Actor in a Supporting Role along with numerous nominations   in the same category including that of Academy Award, BAFTA, Golden Globe and SAG. 

Also for the cinema, he is famed as the writer and director of Wah Wah.

On television Richard has appeared in the hugely popular shows; Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, Jekyll and Hyde, Game of Thrones, Web Therapy and A Series of Unfortunate Events in addition to presenting 

documentaries such as Hotel Secrets for Sky Atlantic, Richard E. Grant’s 7 Deadly Sins, Dear Diary, The Riviera: A History in Pictures, The Art of Paradise and Richard E Grants Essential Classics.

Richard has enjoyed much success in the theatre most notably in London’s West End where credits include roles in; The Importance of Being earnest, The Play What I Wrote, Otherwise Engaged and Tramway Road. He also starred in My Fair Lady at the Theatre Royal, Australia and Lyric Opera, Chicago.

 Corporate credits include hosting the Empire Film Awards and Laurence Olivier Theatre Awards and The D&AD Advertising Awards.
