Beijing Double Gold Medal Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington is the first British Olympic Champion since 1988 and the most successful for 100 years having won gold for the 400m and 8oom freestyle. She followed these achievements by winning Olympic Bronze in London 2012. Having retired from the pool, Becky has created a number of swimwear ranges, joined the BBC Olympic punditry team and appeared on such reality shows as Celebrity Masterchef, The Jump and I’M A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. Passionate about teaching children to swim, Becky Founded Becky Adlington’s SwimStars providing in depth training modules which include teaching; respect, courage and persistence.

Rebecca Adlington first came to the public eye as the golden girl of the Beijing Olympics, winning Double Gold in the swimming pool. In so doing, she wrote her name into the history books as the first British swimmer to win more than one gold medal at a single Olympic Games since Henry Taylor in 1908. Her first victory came as something of a surprise beating the favourite Katie Hoff in the 400m freestyle and she went on to take the 800m freestyle title three days later.

Following Beijing, Rebecca continued her success by winning two bronze medals at the 2009 Rome Championships and a gold medal at the Duel in the Pool event against the USA.

2010 proved to be an outstanding year for this brilliant distance swimmer adding numerous medals to her ever-increasing haul. Among her many achievements, Gold in the European Championship and the Commonwealth Games. In 2011, Rebecca achieved a major ambition when she won the World Championship title that had up to then eluded her. Two more Olympic medals followed in London 2012 this time taking Bronze again in the 400m and 800m freestyle.

Since retiring from competitive sport, Becky has divided her time between a career in the media, working as a BBC pundit and commentator for Olympic, World and European Championships, charity work and promotional swimming schemes. 

A hugely popular figure in the sporting world, she has appeared on such television shows as I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Masterchef, The Chase, Come Dine With Me and 8 Out of Ten Cats.  Rebecca is now in great demand as a keynote speaker.
