More

It may be said that Digby Jones was born into the business world having spent the early years of his life living with his parents and sister in a busy corner shop on the outskirts of Birmingham. Not surprisingly he came to understand the importance of good customer service and the concept of profit and loss from a young age, the basics of which proved to be a good foundation for the future.

When his parents sold the shop to pursue diverse careers, Digby learnt not only the value of money but of community, further qualities along with leadership which developed through his time in the Royal Navy and at university.

Following graduation, he spent 20 years with Edge & Ellison, a Birmingham-based firm of lawyers, where he progressed through the ranks from Articled Clerk to Senior Partner. In 2000, Digby joined the CBI ultimately spending six years as Director General and finally becoming known in the public arena. Following this period he joined the government under Gordon Brown’s administration and served as Minister of State for Trade and Investment during which time he lobbied energetically for British business as well as contributing as a non-executive director and chairman to a number of diverse companies. In 2018 he took up the role of Chairman for Triumph Motorcycles.
