More

Born in rural Berkshire, Kate grew up living next to a farm giving her ample opportunities to develop her passion for the environment, wildlife and animals, in particular horses. After leaving home at the age of 18, she took on a number of odd jobs which enabled her to travel to Africa which she considers contributed far more to her education than university could! There she nurtured her love of wildlife hatching baby crocodiles and cooking for safari camps.

Returning to the UK, Kate got her first job in television as a runner and ultimately went on to work on such programmes as Animal Hospital and The Holiday Programme. It was while working on the latter that she was asked if she had ever presented. The rest as they say, is history.

A regular face on our television screens, Kates credits include; Countryfile, Animal Park, Top Gear, Waterworld, The Essential Guide to Rocks, Rough Science, Holiday, Springwatch, Autumnwatch, Wild Things, Extreme Wives with Kate Humble, Kate Humble:Off the Beaten Track, Airport Live and Secret Life of the Sun.

Away from television, with a warm and engaging personality, Kate is a highly accomplished awards host and conference facilitator, specialising in events geared to science, wildlife and travel. She has published countless books on the subject of nature and lifestyle.

In 2009 Kate was appointed President of the RSPB, Royal Society for the Preservation of Birds and in 2011, Kate and husband Ludo founded Humble By Nature, a rural skills school on a working farm in the Wye Valley.
