Born in Kashmir, where her father was stationed with the British Army’s 6th Gurkha Rifles,  BAFTA award-winning, Joanna Lumley has firmly established herself as something of a national treasure.

An actress, voiceover artist and activist, she is undoubtedly best known for her acting credits particularly in such TV series as Absolutely Fabulous, The New Avengers, Sapphire and Steel, Jam and Jerusalem and Coronation Street and  films such as The Wolf of Wall Street,  Shirley Valentine and Paddington 2 she is also renowned for her work on travel and environmental documentaries including; Joanna Lumley’s Nile, Joanna Lumley’s India, Joanna Lumley’s Greek Odyssey and Joanna Lumley’s Ark. 

But it is without doubt that it is for her comedy performances and Patsy in Absolutely Fabulous that she is most acclaimed. 

Away from acting, Joanna is a committed charity worker and champion for human rights.

Her campaign for Gurkha Justice has been well documented as has her tireless work for animal rights. She is a long-time supporter of Survival International and the cause of indigenous rights, a patron of Tree Aid and The Pastoral and Environmental Network in the Horn of Africa among other charitable work.

Joanna’s charismatic style and flair make her an asset to any event whether it be as an accomplished awards host, presenters or passionate and fascinating after dinner or keynote speaker.
