RTS Award winner, Hazel Irvine is a highly respected sports presenter and reporter. Her credits include the Summer and Winter Olympics, the Commonwealth Games, the football World Cup, golf’s Rider Cup, the London Marathon, snookers first female snooker anchor and was the youngest ever presenter of Grandstand. In fact, she is recognized as one of the most flexible and knowledgeable sports presenters on the circuit. She is also an accomplished sportswoman in her own right.

Unequivocally one of Britain’s leading and most respected sports presenters, Hazel’s career at the top is impressive to say the least. Over the years she has covered a variety of major sporting events, news stories and a number of light entertainment programmes winning the RTS Sports Presenter of the Year Award along the way.

Hazel was the youngest ever presenter to anchor the iconic BBC sports programme Grandstand and was the face of Ski Sunday for ten years. She has a dozen Olympic Games to her credit, both summer and winter in addition to commentating on a number of Olympic opening and closing ceremonies. 

Despite being mainly renowned for her sports coverage of snooker, golf and athletics, Hazel’s knowledge has led to her becoming a multi-sports presenter with credits including; The Commonwealth Games, The Ryder Cup, The Masters, Wimbledon, the London Marathon and the University Boat Race, while in football she has reported from a number of World Cups and European Championships. Other credits include reporting on the BBC News at Six and Ten O’clock, the Olympic Torch Relay, New Year live and the 2012 Olympic Bid announcement. 

Outside sport Hazel’s credits have included presenting on the 60th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings, VE Day celebrations, the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, BBC Scotland’s Children in Need appeal and as anchor of the Millennium Night coverage. In addition, she has fronted on various TV magazine programmes and is equally at home on radio.

London based, Hazel is an accomplished conference facilitator, awards host and after dinner speaker with presentations incorporating the importance of motivation, teamwork and leadership skills.

Hobbies include; playing golf, the piano and supporting Dumbarton FC where she is proud to be Honorary President of the club’s Supporters Association.
