A former BBC Sports Personality of the year, AP McCoy is a retired champion horse race jockey. During his career, A.P won practically every big race there was to win including; the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the King George VI Chase and the Grand National. Following his retirement from the saddle, he joined the BBC Racing Commentary Team as a pundit.

Heralded as the world’s greatest jump jockey, AP McCoy won his first race at the age of 17, became a champion for the first time in 1996 and remained at the top of his profession throughout his amazing 20 year career, during which time he notched up an incredible 4357 wins including the 2010 Grand National, the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the Champion Hurdle, the Queen Mother Champion Chase and the King George VI Chase. An incredible sportsman, AP set records throughout his career highlighting his motivation, dedication, endurance and stamina. This is particularly in evidence when you consider the amount of comebacks he made from broken bones, amassing to 700 in all!
Voted the BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2010 and the recipient of BT’s Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award 2015, AP retired from the saddle in April of the same year.
He is an integral part of the ITV Racing team, co presenting on key races, is President of the Professional Jockey’s Association, the Injured Jockey’s Fund, a Trustee of the Sir Peter O’Sullivan Charitable Trust, Patron of RoR, Alder Hey Hospital and Ambassador for Tiny Tinkers. If this were not enough, AP has recently founded an Ap Academy for injured jockeys In addition to this, AP is also an accomplished writer having written autobiographies and a work of fiction to date.
Now in popular demand on the corporate circuit where he is an acclaimed motivational and after dinner speaker, his topics of speech cover anecdotes from his career, fear of failure, self-motivation and his quest to be the best.
