Alastair Stewart is one of Britain's best known TV newsreaders and presenters, frequently seen presenting news bulletins on ITV. Award winning Alastair Stewart is one of Britain's best-known TV newsreaders and presenters, frequently seen presenting across all main news bulletins on ITV. 

After studying economics, politics and sociology at Bristol University, he began his career at ITV’s Southern Television in Southampton where worked as a reporter, industrial correspondent, presenter and documentary maker. 

Moving on, he joined ITV in 1980 as an Industrial Correspondent before becoming ITN’s Washington Correspondent a decade later. However, as a result of the break out of the first Gulf War, Alastair found himself reporting from Dhahran and Saudi Arabia anchoring ITN’s news coverage and later becoming the first broadcaster to report live from Kuwait, following its liberation.

During his career, Alastair has reported live from and on many high-profile events such as the Iraq war, numerous UK General Elections, State Openings of Parliament, State Visits, the Challenger Space Shuttle disaster and the Royal Weddings of the Prince and Princess of Wales and Duke and Duchess of York.  

Other credits include; Alastair Stewart’s Sunday for BBC Radio Five Live, Alistair Stewart’s Sunday Programme for GMTV, London Tonight for ITV London and Police, Camera, Action also for ITV.

He made television history by moderating the first ever televised debate between David Cameron, Gordon Brown and Nick Clegg.

Alastair was awarded the OBE by Her Majesty The Queen for his services to broadcasting and charity work in 2006.

He is available for conference hosting, facilitating and as an awards host.
